X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set at the very beginning of the X-Men saga. Hugh Jackman returns in the role that made him a movie star; as Logan, or the fierce mutant Wolverine, blessed with the miraculous ability to regenerate as well as adamantium claws on his hands. While the three previous films were set in the not too distant future, the main part of the new story is set in the 1970s.
The plot revisits the early days of Wolverine's heroic career as well as the tragic events of his life, most notably the death of his fated love Kayla Silverfox. Her death causes Wolverine's involvement with the government's secret military program, Weapon X. A project that will change his life forever. Under the command of William Stryker, Team X, a secret military unit made up entirely of mutants, is formed. One of them is Victor Creed, aka Sabretooth, an untamed being of incredible strength, with whom Wolverine must fight his toughest battle yet...
