Life is getting pretty cuddly with Amy (Amy Schumer). She has a great job at a social magazine, wonderful friends, a cozy apartment and a nice set of affectionate partners who want nothing from her except casual sex. Every now and then she hears the biological clock ticking, visits a married sister or a brutally cynical father, and the ticking stops immediately.
Amy would probably have lived happily like this until her transition if she hadn't decided to write an interview with the highly successful sports doctor Aaron (Bill Hader). Like a good journalist, she decides to get to know the object of her interest really well, and so she sleeps with him. Completely in the spirit of her life's work, completely noncommittally.
But this doctor is made of slightly different stuff than the other casual lovers, and he would like to have sex with her in a binding way. The fact that the bulwark of her monogamy is being so brutally assaulted absolutely horrifies Amy. She decides to take her feet on her shoulders, only to no sooner set off than she realizes she doesn't want to run through life alone anymore. But she wouldn't have been allowed to dump "her" doctor before...
