Karel Beran, a radio correspondent in the Middle East, arrives in Prague privately on the basis of an anonymous tip. At the same time, however, a revolution breaks out in the Kambur, which he has unprofessionally left. Being given reporter's duties forces the seasoned professional into hoax reporting, simulating the turmoil of the Arab revolution on kitchen appliances in a Vinohrady apartment. But torn between solving a personal problem and his duty to inform his audience, he gets caught in his own trap. When Czech Radio decides to send a support team after the correspondent based on high-profile stories, he finds himself faced with an unsolvable choice: either admit to media deception or fake his own death.
