It's been two years since Peter Parker decided to leave his longtime love Mary Jane Watson so that he could continue to responsibly pursue his profession as a superhero in the Spider-Man costume. But his longing for his beloved M.J. has become even stronger over time, and he's now toying with the idea of giving up the secret life of a superhero as a testament to his love. In the meantime, however, M.J. has decided to move on to a career as a film actress, and a new man figures in her life. Peter is also having problems with his best friend Harry Osborn. Their camaraderie is becoming increasingly overshadowed by Harry's resentment of Spider-Man, whom he blames for his father's death. Just when it seems that things can't change for the worse, Peter is confronted by the powerful Dr. Octopus, an evil creature with two pairs of deadly tentacles who is a more than worthy adversary. In order to stop his rampage, he must learn to live with his fate and use all of his abilities, which are both a gift and a curse...
