The girl with the exotic name Yi is a typical teenager who has trouble fitting in because she either doesn't understand or is terribly annoying to those around her. She finds solace in a bunker on the roof of her house, where she can at least look at the world with a straight face. One day, however, she discovers a huge white hairy ball in her refuge, which hatches into a young yetti, Snow Boy, whom Yi begins to call Everest.
It's no coincidence, for the world's highest mountain is home to these mythical Himalayan monsters, and the young yetti wants nothing more than to return there. But how is this myth-ridden creature supposed to travel hundreds of miles without being noticed? Discretion is important, not least because he's being hunted by the filthy rich curio collector Burnish, who caught him once before letting his incompetent staff escape.
It is Yi and his two friends who lend Everest a helping hand. As a reward for their courageous decision to escort the snow boy home, they embark on a thrilling journey of fun, adventure and wonder, leading to the highest place on Earth...
