Clint Eastwood has added another film to his directorial filmography based on a true story. The film, named after the protagonist Richard Jewell, goes back to 1996, when during the XXVI Summer Olympics in Atlanta, a security agency employee, Richard Jewell, managed to save thousands of lives by finding a backpack with explosives.
However, the initially celebrated hero later becomes the prime suspect due to manipulative and misleading media reports. The media campaign that ensues slowly destroys one man's heroism in the eyes of the nation, and this, along with a debilitating FBI investigation, makes his previously peaceful life a living hell...
