John Schlesinger’s acclaimed drama is one of the most important films of late 1960s American cinema. The story follows naive Texan Joe Buck (Jon Voight), who arrives in New York believing he can make a living as a companion to wealthy women. Instead of the glamorous life he imagined, he encounters the harsh reality of the big city. On the streets he meets small-time hustler Ratso Rizzo (Dustin Hoffman), and an unusual friendship gradually forms between them.
Raw yet deeply human, this powerful story about loneliness, dreams and friendship won three Academy Awards, including Best Picture. The cast also features Sylvia Miles, John McGiver and Brenda Vaccaro.
This legendary film is now available on Blu-ray with excellent picture and sound quality.
