Description:

Are you in the mood for a massive dose of wild alien invasion, dark humor, and premium Hollywood nostalgia? The legendary sci-fi comedy Mars Attacks!, directed by the visionary Tim Burton, is an absolutely brilliant, sharp, and satirical parody of 1950s disaster movies. Featuring an incredible star-studded ensemble cast, this film is guaranteed to keep you entertained with its sheer absurdity, iconic Martian design, and unmistakable retro atmosphere.

Ack! Ack! We are not alone, and they definitely do not come in peace. Earth faces its ultimate test in history—a massive fleet of flying saucers from Mars is approaching the planet. The US President (Jack Nicholson) tries to de-escalate the situation, fully believing that the Martians come in peace, but the very first welcoming ceremony in the desert turns into an absolute massacre. It turns out that these small, cruel, and incredibly mischievous big-brained aliens just want to have fun at humanity's expense while systematically wiping them out. As the military fails and major cities turn to dust, mankind must discover an unexpected and absurd weakness to stop the Martian invaders once and for all.

💡 Fun Facts from Production

• Homage to trading cards: The film was not based on a novel; instead, it was completely inspired by the popular and controversial 1962 bubblegum trading card series titled Mars Attacks, which was heavily criticized in its day for its graphic violence.
• Jack Nicholson in a dual role: The legendary Jack Nicholson happily took on two entirely different roles in the film—the idealistic US President James Dale, and Artie Landgon, a slimy Las Vegas real estate developer.
• Stop-motion vs. CGI: Tim Burton originally intended to animate the Martians using traditional, hand-crafted stop-motion puppet animation. Due to budget and time constraints, he eventually had to pivot to computer-generated CGI, but the animators intentionally stylized the digital movements to mimic the jerky, traditional Burtonesque puppet animation style.
• The famous Martian voice: The aliens' signature "ack, ack, ack, ack" sound was created in a rather bizarre way—it is simply a duck's quack played backwards.
