A brawl breaks out at the Trigger Whiskey Saloon in the small town of Stetson City, somewhere in the Wild West. Owner Doug Badman calms the gunmen with a performance by Tornado Lou, the "famous Arizona singer", who sings a song about the champion of her heart. Just as Grimpo the gunslinger is about to drink his favorite "superclown", Mr. Goodman and his daughter Winnifred appear at the saloon and use pamphlets and song to try to dissuade the gunslingers from drinking alcoholic beverages.

Their only answer is insults. Just then, however, a dashing cowboy in a white suit appears at the saloon and orders a glass of Coke. He then playfully gets Grimp to apologize to the lovely Winifred, and before he leaves, all he has to do is take out a gang of bank robbers and awaken a deep love in the hearts of both Winnifred and Tornado Lou. Before long, the Trigger Whiskey Saloon finds itself on the verge of bankruptcy as the gunslingers sip colloquial soda in the neighborhood where Mr. Goodman has opened a non-alcoholic bar.

But Badman's brother Horace, a villain known as Hogofogo, appears on the scene. He drags the gunslingers back to the whiskey and takes possession of Winnifred. Lemonade Joe sees everything through the mirroring of the air, the so-called Fata Morgana, and saves the girl. He declares his love for her and then sets out to save her father's business from ruin. He handles the gunslingers gamely, but succumbs to an insidious ambush when he is slipped liquor in a glass of Coke. But those who laugh derisively are laughing prematurely, for even such trifles as a double shot through the heart cannot shake the white hero...
