Fun Facts and Production Insights:
• Director Lee Cronin stated that his main goal was to return The Mummy to its pure horror and terrifying roots, miles away from the adventure-focused tone of the turn-of-the-century films.
• Actress May Calamawy (known from the Moon Knight series) drew from her own Middle Eastern heritage during filming, adding authentic cultural depth to the movie.
• The filmmakers relied as much as possible on practical effects and traditional makeup instead of digital CGI to achieve a more raw and palpable sense of dread.
• Filming took place in strictly classified desert locations and historic underground complexes, helping the actors fully immerse themselves in the claustrophobic atmosphere of fear.
