When four schoolchildren discover an old video game console with a game they've never heard of before - called Jumanji - they all find themselves in the jungle where the game takes place and quite literally become the characters they've chosen for the game: Spencer, the computer gamer, becomes a plucky adventurer (Dwayne Johnson), Fridge, the avid athlete, loses (in his own words) "his upper body" and becomes a diminutive genius (Kevin Hart), everyone's favorite Bethany becomes a middle-aged professor (Jack Black), and the taciturn loner Martha is transformed into a tough warrior (Karen Gillan). Together they discover that Jumanji is not a game you can just play - you have to survive it. In order to beat the game and return to the real world, they must embark on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, discover what Alan Parrish left behind 20 years ago, and also learn to see themselves very differently - or they'll be stuck in the game forever...
