To be clear, Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson), a retired secret agent turned teacher, wouldn't normally be called into the service of his country by even the craziest lunatic. But a certain genius computer hacker has uncovered the identities of all active British Secret Service agents, and the Prime Minister (Emma Thompson) suddenly resembles the proverbial drowning man who would like to grasp at straws.
By his own unfortunate coincidence, Johnny English is the only one who can save his country right now. Never mind that he's completely out of touch with the latest technological toys. As he puts it, "The only way to catch a digital villain is with an analogue approach." What's more, English goes into action equipped with his trusty assistant, Bough (Ben Miller), who usually cleans up the aftermath of his actions. The two men's first steps head to the Côte d'Azur, where the mysterious villain was last seen.
Here the first chapter of the digital genius versus analogue moron duel takes place, a duel that may not be nearly as one-sided as it first appears. For on Johnny English's side are not only the faithful Bough and Justice, but also the ability to make the worst possible decision and come out of the situation without losing a flower...
