Former bad guy Gru has a problem. He's let the world's most wanted villain escape through his fingers, and he's been fired from his job at the Anti-Villain League. What's more, his Mimons are growing increasingly unhappy that their owner is no longer evil. Youngest daughter Agnes longs for a live unicorn that will be incredibly handsome. And to top it all off, Gru learns that he has a twin that is indistinguishable from him. Except for the hair. But let's get back to the villain who outsmarted Gru. His name is Balthazar Bratt and he was a child star of a popular TV show in the 1980s. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't get over the end of it and has been hurting ever since. He wears retro clothes and an impossible hairstyle, listens to old songs on cassette tapes, and uses Rubik's cubes and bubble gum as weapons. Just the nasty type.Much more likeable is the other newcomer to the story, Gru's brother Dru. He's an incredibly friendly and nice guy who wishes more than anything that his brother would initiate him into the art of crime. But Gru has become a hardened good guy (so hardened, in fact, that even the open rebellion of the Outsiders, who abandoned him because of his good behavior, hasn't moved him). The only one Gru would be willing to go over to the side of evil, at least temporarily, for is his eternal rival Balthazar Bratt. And when this cowardly Michael Jackson clone dares to touch his family, he uses all his villainous experience to save his loved ones. He's enthusiastically joined by his newfound brother Dru and his Mimons, who only in prison have realised what's most important to them in life...
