At exactly 2:17 AM, an entire class of students vanishes—save for one—leaving the quiet town of Maybrook in shock. Archer Graff (Josh Brolin), father of one of the missing, is desperate for answers. Suspicion falls on teacher Justine Gandy (Julia Garner). As the investigation unfolds, a web of tension, fear and secrets is revealed through multiple perspectives — parents, law enforcement, and the townspeople.
Zach Cregger crafts the film as a mosaic of chapters filled with mystery, atmosphere, and chilling suspense. Rather than a straightforward thriller, the viewer navigates a layered interplay of perspectives, motifs, and questions: what is reality, what is manipulation? The film hovers between horror, mysterious drama, and psychological thriller, with shocking twists and a striking visual style enhancing its impact.
