Major (Scarlett Johansson) is the commander of Section 9, a special police unit that fights the worst cybercrimes. The story is set in the near future, when the world is even more dependent on modern technology than it is today and any disruption to the technological order can have immeasurable consequences.

With a human brain and an advanced robotic shell, Major tries to catch a criminal whose goal is to destroy Hanka Robotics, a leader in the development of artificial intelligence.
